David Hempleman-Adams completes the smile cape 2 cape challenge

David Hempleman-Adams

Top adventurer David Hempleman-Adams finished the smile cape 2 cape challenge on 23rd July 2004 and flew the smile cape 2 cape challenger around Cape Horn, Chile. The smile cape 2 cape challenge, started 11 th July, saw the explorer fly a tiny pink single engine Cessna from Cape Columbia at the very top of Canada, to Cape Horn at the very bottom of South America.

Despite having to send for a replacement engine at the beginning of the challenge, which delayed the flight by nearly a week, David and Co-pilot Lorne White made up the time and arrived exactly on schedule.

David has clocked up over 11,500 miles, over more than eight countries and four seas and has battled with changing weather to reach Cape Horn in just 12 days.
