What do I do if my card has been lost or stolen?

If your card has been lost or stolen please contact our Lost and Stolen Cards department on 0345 600 6000, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week as soon as possible. We’ll cancel your card immediately and issue a replacement. Your replacement card should be with you within 3-5 days.

What do I do if my card is damaged or faulty?

If your card has been damaged or is faulty, you can order a replacement online. Just log in to online banking, select the relevant account, select manage card and then select Order a Replacement Card from the options below. Your replacement card should be with you within 3-5 days.

Please check that your address is correct before ordering a replacement card. Please destroy your old card by cutting it in half when your new one arrives.

What do I do if my card has been retained by a cash machine?

If your card has been retained by a cash machine, you can request a replacement card online. Just log in to online banking, select the relevant account select manage card and then select Order a Replacement Card from the options below. Your replacement card should be with you within 3-5 days.

How long does it take for a pin re-issue to arrive?

It will take up to 2-5 working days from order, (note customers living outside the UK may need to allow extra time for receipt of their PIN).

Never keep a written note of your PIN in a way that could be understood by anyone else, and do not disclose your PIN to anyone.

Protecting your money

Your eligible deposits with The Co-operative Bank are protected up to a total of £85,000 by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, the UK’s deposit guarantee scheme. This limit is applied to the total of any deposits you have with The Co-operative Bank and smile. Any total deposits you hold above the limit between these brands are unlikely to be covered.
